As most of you know most states define
antique motor
vehicles as those manufactured more than 25 years ago and Streetrods as
those modified vehicles produced by an American manufacturer in 1948 or
earlier and used as a safe, non-racing vehicle. I’m sure most states
have the same definition.
With that being said, “Street Rod Clubs” were at one time restricted
to pre-1949 vehicles and limited their members to only those who drove a
Streetrod. I see nothing wrong in limiting members to restrictions of
their interest. Most Corvette, Chevy Tri 5’s, Mustang, Mopars, Antique
Club’s all are specific about the cars driven to their closed shows.
Nothing wrong with “Open Car Clubs”, I belong to one. However,
like some of my Street Rod buddies I also would like to belong to a
pre-49 Association. It is our
intention to re-invigorate the Street Rod Event Calendar with smaller
local shows that all Street Rodders will be welcomed because of who they
are and not what they are willing to spend.
You can e-mail your event or any questions you might have. Jimbo
